About CIP

Mission

The purpose of Chi Iota Pi is to establish a multifaceted sisterhood based on Compassion, Integrity and Perseverance. Chi Iota Pi will accomplish this through community service, educational and social programming that aims at empowering minorities, women, and children. It is the goal of Chi Iota Pi to strive for finer womanhood and foster the growth of diverse women of leadership to catalyze change in society.

This Mission was established by our 8 Founding Sisters in 2004. Our history, our growth, and our future lies within our adherence to the organization's drive to fulfill our mission.

We welcome partnering organizations that desire to collaborate on projects that fulfill our mission on any level, micro or macro.

Philanthropy

Chi Iota Pi was incorporated in January, 2005 as a service-based sorority. Since then service projects have mostly included participation with the ONE Campaign (founded the same year as CIP), World Children's Fund, and Feeding America.

Beyond this, Chapters have participated in other programs such as women empowerment programs, annual minority cancer awareness programs, and walked to fundraise for ALS, Diabetes, and Cancer. In 2011, Chi Iota Pi also participated in a walk to end bullying, a national epidemic facing our children.

In 2010, Chi Iota Pi became involved nationally with fundraising for "Walk Now for Autism Speaks" and contributed efforts towards raising thousands of dollars towards autism research and the search for a cure through Autism Speaks. Chi Iota Pi has renewed its commitment in 2011, as a campaign will be launched to raise money for the 2012 walk.
